- Facility Protocols - 

This information is provided for your convenience. Every effort is made to keep this information current, but in case of discrepancy, please refer to the protocols listed by individual facilities. 

 

Ringette Alberta:

These rules apply to everyone, at any location, in addition to facility protocols listed below. 

- Children under 12: do not require proof of vaccination or negative test

- Youth 12-18: do not proof of vaccination or negative test for RAB, but depending on facility protocols may have to provide it.

- Coaches, officials, minor officials of all ages require proof of vaccination or negative test.

Facility Protocols - September 28, 2021

 

Westlock:

effective Tuesday, October 5, 2021

 All people 18 years and over are required to produce valid personal identification and show one of the following:

  • partial vaccination (one dose) accepted September 20 to October 25 if received 2-weeks before the time of service
  • full vaccination (two doses) required after October 25
  • proof of a privately-paid negative PCR or rapid test within 72 hours of service (tests from AHS or Alberta Precision Laboratories not allowed)
  • original vaccine medical exemption letter

 Youth between the ages of 12 and 17 NOT engaged in sport (spectators) are required to show one of the following:

  • partial vaccination (one dose) accepted September 20 to October 25 if received 2-weeks before the time of service
  • full vaccination (two doses) required after October 25
  • proof of a privately-paid negative PCR or rapid test within 72 hours of service (tests from AHS or Alberta Precision Laboratories not allowed)

Youth between the ages of 12 and 17 taking part in sport, recreation or performance activities are not required to have proof of vaccination.

A reminder that masks and 2 metres of physical distancing are also required in all indoor buildings.

 

Thorhild:

PRA will be implementing REP protocols for PRA events only. Players must wear masks and social distance unless on ice. Participants must be screened for symptoms. Bench Staff and Minor Officials must submit REP records to designated home team individual for recording.

 

Barrhead: 

- Youth (under 18) practices, games, etc. may continue
- Spectators, athletes, and walking track patrons limited to 1/3 building capacity and must socially distance (2m) and mask except youth when participating in their sport

 

Spruce Grove:

  • Youth participating in youth activities in a REP facility are not required to be screened.
  • Parents who are required to support youth in their activities (e.g. parent and tot groups) would be required to follow REP requirements in order to attend.
  • Youth are subject to physical distancing at all other times when not engaged in the physical activity (e.g. locker rooms, common areas etc.)
  • If youth wish to access other amenities beyond youth-specific sports, recreation or performance activities in a facility participating in the REP, for these purposes they will be required to be screened per the REP, as applicable (12+ years of age).
  • Coaches, instructors, trainers, referees etc. for youth activities, who are 18 years or older, are subject to the public health measures or REP requirements in the facility.?

 

Edmonton:

The City has adopted the Government of Alberta’s Restriction Exemption Program which will require everyone age 12 and over attending a City facility to produce proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test before entering a facility. Everyone age 18 and over will also need to show a valid photo identification.

 

St. Albert:

As of September 20, 2021, people aged 12 and over are required to show one of the following to enter a City recreational facility:  

  • Proof of vaccination 
  • Proof of a privately-paid negative PCR or rapid test within 72 hours of service 
  • Proof of a valid medical exemption for vaccination.

Valid personal identification (birth certificate, health card, driver’s licence,  etc.) is required for adults 18+ only.

Youth under 18 who are participating in a sport, recreation or performance activity will not be required to provide proof of vaccination at City recreational or cultural facilities.

Youth under 18 who are observing a sport, recreation or performance activity will be required to provide proof of vaccination at City recreational or cultural facilities.

 

Sherwood Park:

Spectators, Participants, Volunteers over 12 require proof of vaccination or negative test. Youth (12-17) participating in sport, fitness, recreation and performance activities are only required to screen for symptoms, maintain 2 metres distancing (except while engaged in physical activity) and wear a mask (except while engaged in physical activity). If youth are spectating, proof of vaccine, private negative COVID-19 test result or medical exemption requirements apply.

Fort Saskatchewan:

Spectators, Participants, Volunteers over 12 require proof of vaccination or negative test.

If a youth under 18 years of age is accessing a facility with a REP in place for the sole purpose of taking part in a youth activity, they would not need to provide proof of vaccination status, physician note, or negative test. Youth participating in sport, fitness, recreation and performance activities must screen for symptoms, maintain 2-metres distancing and wear a mask (except while engaged in physical activity).

Individuals 12 years and older must show one of the acceptable options for proof of vaccination if they wished to spectate or use any other amenity in the facility. If youth are spectating, proof of vaccination, medical exemption or paid negative COVID-19 test is required.

 

Fort Saskatchewan: 

If a youth under 18 years of age is accessing a facility with a REP in place for the sole purpose of taking part in a youth activity, they would not need to provide proof of vaccination status, physician note, or negative test. Youth participating in sport, fitness, recreation and performance activities must screen for symptoms, maintain 2-metres distancing and wear a mask (except while engaged in physical activity).

Individuals 12 years and older must show one of the acceptable options for proof of vaccination if they wished to spectate or use any other amenity in the facility. If youth are spectating, proof of vaccination, medical exemption or paid negative COVID-19 test is required.

 

Hinton:

All facility attendees ages 12 and up are required to provide proof of one of the following:
• Vaccinated (partially or fully will be accepted); or
• Have received a negative COVID test within the last 72 hours; or
• Have a medical exemption
?Youth participating in organized sport are still exempt from providing proof under the REP.
Facility attendees 18 years and up MUST present valid ID with their proof listed above.

 

Beaumont:

  • Volunteers for organized sport groups can enter to perform their activity-related responsibilities without proof of vaccination, exemption, or negative COVID-19 test.
  • Youth sport, fitness and performance participants can take part in their activities without proof of vaccination, exemption, or negative COVID-19 test.
  • Youth aged 12-17 must show proof of vaccination, medical exemption, or a negative test result to enter any facility while not participating in activity.
    • This includes spectators or using the concourse and common areas.
  • Anyone ages 18+ will be required to show proof of vaccination, medical exemption, or a negative rapid test result within 72 hours of a visit to facilities of a visit to facilities. 

 

Leduc:

The City of Leduc will participate in the program and visitors (aged 12 years and older) will be required to provide proof of vaccination, medical exemption or a negative PCR or rapid test (privately-paid, completed within the last 72 hours) when visiting the following facilities:

Note: Visitors under the age of 18 who are taking part in organized sport, recreation and performance bookings at City's facilities implementing the province's Restriction Exemption Program (e.g., Leduc Recreation Centre, Maclab Centre for the Performing Arts) are not required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination/negative test.

 

Lacombe:

Youth (under 18) sport, fitness, recreation and performance activities (September 16)

  • Indoor group classes, training, and competitions are permitted, but participants need to:
    • Screen for symptoms
    • Maintain 2 metres distancing, except youth while engaged in physical activity
    • Wear a mask, except youth while engaged in physical activity
  • Spectator attendance is restricted to 1/3 fire code capacity; attendees are limited to a single household or two close contacts if living alone and must be masked and maintain 2 metres physical distancing.

The City is currently targeting October to potentially implement a broader facility version of the REP. Further details will be shared when available.

 

Red Deer:

The following guests/visitors/spectators are required to show proof of vaccination, medical exemption or negative rapid COVID-19 test within 72 hours of entry:

  • Adults 18 years and over to access the facility for any purpose 
  • Youth 12-17 years who are visiting the facility as spectators or to use the common areas or concourse
  • Coaches, instructors, trainers, referees and other sport volunteers, who are 18 and older

The following guests are not required to show proof of vaccination, medical exemption or negative rapid COVID-19 test within 72 hours of entry:

  • Children under 12 years*
  • Youth aged 12-17 who are directly participating in activities or organized sport (ie. swimming, drop-in basketball, hockey etc.)

*Children under 8 years of age are required to have a parent or guardian over the age of 16 years on-site. Parents or guardians must adhere to the Restrictions Exemption Program guidelines.
